Cookie Policy
A practical guide to browser storage and third-party connections.
What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains cookies, similar browser storage and the choices available when using FinPico. It accompanies the Privacy Policy and focuses on website technology rather than the financial assumptions inside a calculator. A cookie notice is useful only when it reflects the features actually operating on a site.
The word cookie is sometimes used loosely to describe several technologies. A small browser record, a saved preference, a cached image and a request to an external service are not identical. Their privacy implications also differ. This page explains the categories without claiming that every technology described is active for every visitor.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small record that a website or service can ask your browser to store and return with later requests. Some cookies last for a session, while others remain until they expire or are removed. The service setting the record determines its purpose and lifetime, subject to browser behavior and applicable requirements.
Other mechanisms include local storage, session storage and cached resources. These can help an application remember information or load more efficiently. A browser's privacy tools may show them in different places. Removing a cached file does not necessarily remove a login cookie, and clearing one domain's records may not clear storage belonging to another service.
Necessary website functions
WordPress administration uses session-related mechanisms to recognize authorized users and support account access. Ordinary visitors do not need an administrative login to use FinPico calculators. A screenshot taken while an administrator is signed in may therefore show behavior that differs from a public visit.
Security and form protection may also use technical checks to identify automated abuse or validate a request. Such checks should not be confused with a newsletter subscription or a user profile built from calculator inputs. If you block all storage indiscriminately, a feature depending on a valid session or security state may stop working.
Performance, caching and preferences
Caching helps reduce repeated work when pages and resources are delivered. FinPico uses website performance tools, and the behavior can vary with the device, page and login state. Not every caching function needs a browser cookie; some work on the server instead.
Preferences can also be stored to keep a choice consistent between visits. Whether a setting persists depends on how that feature is implemented. A visual change made in a calculator may simply be held in the current page, rather than saved permanently. Do not assume that returning to a page will restore an earlier calculation.
External fonts and images
Some FinPico pages use external font resources or images served from another host. Loading those assets makes a connection to the relevant host and can disclose ordinary technical information, such as an IP address and request details. A network request can occur without a cookie being set.
For example, blocking third-party cookies does not necessarily prevent an external font from loading. Conversely, blocking an external host entirely can change how a page looks. The Privacy Policy explains the broader information-handling context. Review a provider's own policy if you need details about its infrastructure or retention practices.
Calculators and contact forms
The financial calculator engines run in the browser and update results from the values you enter. A calculation does not require you to create an account. This does not mean all page resources load without technical requests, or that information typed into a separate contact form stays only on your device.
The Contact Us form sends the enquiry you choose to submit. Form validation and anti-spam features support that process. Do not enter sensitive identifiers into calculator fields or use the enquiry form to transmit private financial documents. Clearing browser storage does not recall an email or delete a message already sent to the site.
Social media and email destinations
Sharing controls can open Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp or X with the page URL prepared for sharing. The selected platform controls what happens after you arrive there, including any sign-in and storage practices. The buttons do not guarantee that a post has been published merely because you clicked them.
Email links can open a configured email application or a browser-based compose screen. A Gmail link connects you with Google's service. Your browser may require a login or permission to open a handler. Copy-link controls are an alternative for sharing a URL and use clipboard access only after you choose that action.
Advertising and analytics categories
Advertising technologies can use cookies or other identifiers to serve, measure and personalize ads. Analytics technologies can help measure visits and website interactions. These categories should be described according to the actual service and configuration, rather than added as if every installed plugin were already connected.
FinPico's planned monetization does not itself mean Google advertising is active. If advertising or additional measurement is introduced, the relevant disclosure and consent setup must be reviewed. Google explains advertising-cookie practices in its official AdSense help material. A written Cookie Policy alone is not a substitute for any consent mechanism required by the implementation and applicable rules.
How to manage browser storage
Use your browser's privacy or site-settings menu to inspect and remove stored data, restrict cookies or manage permissions for a particular domain. Menu names differ between browsers and devices, so follow the browser vendor's current instructions. A private-browsing window can provide a separate session but is not a guarantee of anonymity.
If a page looks outdated after a change, refreshing it or clearing cached resources may help. Before removing all site data, consider whether you need a saved login or other preference. Browser settings apply to that browser profile; changing them on a laptop does not automatically change the settings on your phone.
Questions and updates
For a storage-related question, contact hello@finpico.com and identify the page, browser and behavior you observed. A screenshot of a browser setting can be useful, but remove private account information first. We may ask for additional non-sensitive details when an issue cannot be reproduced.
Website features and providers can change. This policy should be reviewed together with the Privacy Policy when a new integration is introduced or an existing one is removed. It does not certify a fixed cookie inventory for every possible visit. If you need to understand a specific request or record, identify it so the enquiry can be investigated accurately.
